Veritas Volume Manager doesn’t start after system reboot

If you ever happen to see below veritas error after rebooting box and none of the veritas volumes started and mounted. It could be below reasons.
#vxdisk -o alldgs list
vxvm:xxxx: ERROR: IPC Failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible.

after system boot, If you start the vxconfigd manually everything works fine and can start volumes and mount them. after a research I found the issue with /etc/vx/reconfig.d/state.d/install-db which gets created during VSF installation and removed after successful installation. For some reason my system it was not got deleted & which causing vxconfigd daemon to not start automatically. just delete the file & from next time it should start automatically.

Apparently there could be some other reasons too which prevents starting vxconfigd daemon. Follow the below links
